Month 3 ​​Cherish and protect the brain tissue

  1. What is happening as we live longer and the potential to increase brainability
  2. What is dementia and how can it be delayed or prevented
  3. Cherish and protect the brain tissue
  4. Keep the blood and oxygen flowing 
  5. Stay engaged and purposeful
  6. Start your revolution

There are three strategies to reduce the risk of dementia 

1. keep the Brain tissue healthy
2. stay engaged and seek out challenges 
3. keep the blood and oxygen flow to the brain healthy

This is focused on the first of these three strategies. obviously Alzheimer's Disease is a disease of the brain tissue and you need luck to avoid developing Alzheimer's Disease because at present there is no effective means of preventing this disorder. Some interventions are promising bu the priority is to invest in research. However Alzheimer's Disease is no the only cause of brain tissue damage and there are others described in more detail in our briefing and there are steps you can take to reduce the risk of brain damage
